We live in an incredible neighborhood.
When we stumbled upon the Moyaone, nearly three years ago now, we immediately fell in love with its modern architecture tucked quietly away in beautiful, tranquil woods—and just outside Washington, DC, would you believe it? We weren’t planning to buy a house at the time, but we kept coming back. (We came to so many showings of our house that Sheryl, the local real estate agent, eventually threw up her hands, shook her head, and said, “you two again—just buy it!”) We finally did, and we moved in; but even as we’ve settled in here we’ve never tired of taking trips around the neighborhood to peep on the very cool houses. As we’ve made friends here, we’ve been able to step inside those cool houses.

The Moyaone Reserve is hosting a Homes Tour on Saturday, April 30, from 1–5pm. Our home won’t be a stop this year—next time!—but this still promises to be a very good house-peeping trip around the neighborhood.

The Moyaone Reserve is a unique and historic community in Accokeek, MD, located directly across the Potomac River from Mount Vernon. This self-guided tour features a variety of architectural styles, including Washington DC’s most unique mid-century modern community, situated inside protected parklands!
After, enjoy a glass of wine while bidding on local art, event tickets and more at a post-tour wine reception and auction at the Wagner Community Center.
Tickets can be purchased in advance online or bought day-of at the door (cash or check).
